How long have you been a published author and what’s your main goal for the future?
I started writing about six years ago and wrote a trilogy that was surprisingly successful given how badly it was written. My first fully edited book with a professionally made cover etc was released in Feb 2015, so I’d say just over a year. In that time, I’ve put out four novels/novellas, seven short stories and I’m in the middle of writing another novel. I’ve also got one with a publisher and the first draft of the next story in that series ready to go, so hopefully 2016 will be another massive year for me. My main goal for the future is to keep on going, to keep writing and honing my craft so that my readers walk away with a smile and an ‘awww’ when they reach the end of my stories.
What’s your pick for the most sensuous food combination?
Anything that you lick – dripping chocolate is probably the best – or moan when you eat. For me, it’s anything sweet, for others it’s a big juicy sausage 😉 Whatever works!
If you were to get a tattoo that represented your work, what would it be and why?
That’s an easy one (mainly because I’m going to see my tattoo artist this week to talk to him about getting it done). I’d like a peacock feather quill with blues, purples and greens as the main colours with beautiful fine lines – ouch – and lots of detail on the whispy parts of the feather. The second part of the tattoo is script. I originally wanted it to say ‘live passionately, forgive readily, love completely’ which is a line out of my first manuscript accepted by a publisher, but I’m not sure about it anymore. I’m thinking that my fave line out of my first published work would be better – ‘I was home’ – but it just doesn’t have the same ring to it.
What professional ‘Mainstream’ author would you like to see go full Erotica in a novel and why?
Matthew Reilly. If his sex scenes would be anything like his action scenes are, damn they’d be hot. (Ed. Note — He’s Written Ice Station, Seven Deadly Wonders, and Hell Island)
Have you ever learned anything new from an erotic book and used it on your significant other. If so, explain?
I’m pleading the Fifth on that one (and the fact that I’m an Aussie and we don’t have the Fifth Amendment here is irrelevant 😉 )
If you were to see a couple arguing to the point of violence, what would you do, and why?
That’s a really hard one to answer because you never know how you’d react on the spot. I can say that if I had my kids with me it would definitely change my reaction. At the very least, I’d call the police and hang around until they arrived to make sure it was sorted out. I’d also try to rope some other people into helping me break it up (I’m not exactly Thor in the strength or imposing department).
If you were to try BDSM for the first time, would you be a dom/domme or a submissive and why?
Depends what we’re talking. There are so many facets to BDSM that I’m not sure it’s that simple an answer. Or maybe it is – perhaps I’d switch between them depending on who I was with and what we were doing. Of course, given that I’m happily married, the answer to who I would be with would naturally be my hubby (and shhh, don’t tell him but there may be a few other gorgeous hunky guys there too 😉 )
Which 60’s to 80’s cultural craze would you be more inclined to re-visit today —- Experimenting with LSD, Disco, or the Urban Cowboy phase — and why?
I always believed I was born in the wrong generation – I love 60’s hippie music and the clothes. Never done drugs, but I’d definitely do Woodstock.
Name a celebrity who looks better clothed than naked/half-naked, and why?
Any of the men on my ‘to do’, ahh, I mean ‘bucket’ list – never mind you get what I mean. Okay, um Chris Hemsworth, Ryan Reynolds, Charlie Hunnam, Bradley Cooper… there are a ton more but I’ll end the list now before I get too carried away. I’d want to reserve all that goodness for me, all at the same time (I’m greedy, sue me). I don’t want to have to fight off everyone else.
Which of your character’s names would be best suited for a porn star, and why?
Jamie Walters from my College Days series. He loses his virginity to six men in a shower. Enough said.
What’s something in your daily life that makes you sad, and happy, and why?
Cookies make me happy. Always. Without fail. My alarm clock makes me sad.
Which popular phrase best defines your writing and why —- “Do Unto Others as they do unto you”, “Kill ’em all and let God sort them out”, or “Why can’t we all just get along.” (If you have a better phrase, feel free to use it.)
Sugar and spice make all things nice. My romances are sweet, sassy and sexy and my erotica is just a little spicy.
In your opinion, what would be the unsexiest animal for a ‘Shifter’ character to turn into, and why?
Ironic I know, but a snake. Can’t stand them. If I made the mistake of buying the book, I wouldn’t be able to get past page one.
Have you ever read a sex scene in an erotic novel and said to yourself – WTF? (Explain w/o divulging the book or writer.)
Ah yes. All the time. The whole magic pussy movement where men can come just by looking at it, extra body parts or just unrealistic poses, reactions, conversations etc always get me.
Office Sex, Rooftop Sex, or Haunted House Sex — which one would you rather do, and why?
Rooftop sex. My office is an organized mess and if someone messed up my shit, they wouldn’t be getting laid. They’d get slapped upside the head. Mind you, when I say rooftop sex, I’m imagining resort style rooftop pool, lounge chairs, swim up bar etc. If it was a dusty, dingy roof, then I’d live with the mess in my office.
Tell us what’s the hottest outfit in your closet – from head to feet?
That’s easy. I have ski gear in my closet, thermals, a beanie and scarves. They’re bloody hot anywhere except a ski field… Oh you mean hot hot, not hot 😉 Okay, I had a long red strapless satin dress that I wore to my 30th birthday. Can’t fit into it anymore (bloody kids) but it was one of those dresses that you put on and felt empowered. That was sexy to me. Of the outfits that I still fit into, I have a corset and panty set with pull up stockings that suck everything in and lift everything up. I think I looked pretty damn hot in that.
