An Interview With Suzette Cauler — Shape-Shifter Eroticist

Suzette Cauler has loved books (all types really) for as long as she can remember. As a child, she’d get lost in books for hours, using a flashlight to read under the covers long past bedtime. She read her first romance novel as a preteen and was immediately hooked by the swoon-worthy heroes and daring, spunky damsels. Though her reading tastes have definitely matured, Suzette continues to enjoy romance novels, especially those of the erotic, paranormal, fantasy, or historical variety. She writes almost as voraciously as she reads and typically falls head over heels in love with her heroes.

Though everyday types of romantic situations do appeal to her, stories that include adventure, intrigue, or danger have always made Suzette’s heart go pitter patter. If they incorporate some science fiction too, she is even happier. You’ll find elements like these in most of her stories as well as strong heroines who can fight their own battles but sometimes enjoy letting someone else take the lead.

Suzette is also a Featured Author During the SINsational Sirens Showcase going on from August 5th to the 9th on Facebook. (2) - Copy

Now, Let’s Read an Interview between Suzette and Yours Truly!!

~~~~~~~~~~~ ❤  ~~~~~~~~~~~~ ❤  ~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ❤
When did you know you wanted to write erotica?
Well, I’ve always loved romance novels, the naughtier, the better, and I’d read A LOT of sexy books. I’ve also been writing for many years, without ever actually trying to get published. I don’t honestly know what happened. One day I just said I need to try my hand at that, and Taking Chances was born. It took a lot of blood, sweat, and tears (and even some wine) to get that first book ready to submit to publishers, but I have to say it was one of the most exhilarating experiences of my life.
Who’s your Favorite character from your novels, why, and from what book?
I love all of my characters, but right now I’d have to say Luke from Nikki’s Fated is my favorite. He’s kind of an ass at first, but he’s really just misunderstood, and that gets to me. I have a thing for bad boys and underdogs.
Are there any erotic genres you don’t plan writing in and why?
Nope. I have all these stories floating around in my head, waiting to get their chance. Seriously, I can’t keep up. I have so much I want to dig into. I hope to try my hand at a bunch of different erotic genres eventually.
Have you learned anything about yourself since you’ve been writing?
Oh, I’ve learned loads. One thing is that I can easily get lost in my own head, and there are few things I’d rather do than put my stories down on paper. Also, now that I’ve started, I don’t think I can stop. Yeah, I’m addicted.
What’s your short term and long term goals as a writer?
Write more! Grow as a writer! That’s pretty much it, though I’d love to be able to focus on my fiction full time someday.
Have you ever considered making one of your male characters a short, chunky nerdy type guy?
I have actually. There’s someone out there for everyone, and I believe short, chunky, and nerdy can be sexy, especially when the guy really gets his woman. You know, when they have that mind connection going on. I think having an average guy as a hero can work. I haven’t done that yet, though, because when my male characters pop into my mind, they’re always built to make you want to drop your panties. Go figure.
What’s your WIP / next release?
I have three books in the works now. I’m working on the next book in my Dakota Laveaux Series (no title yet). It has sexy identical twin vampires in it. Then, I’m also working on the follow up to Avery and Her Wolf (no title yet). This one is all about her brother Ryder. And I’m trying to finish Book 3 of Gifted to the Alphas, which is actually a short.
You open a book and a Genie appears. He offers to make one of your novels a National Bestseller but a Celebrity or Politician has to die. What would you do / say?
Ummmm…no? See, I was all tempted until you said someone had to die. Seriously though, I want to feel proud when/if I have a book that becomes a national bestseller. If a genie makes it happen, it won’t be because I worked my ass off and people loved my book. No thanks. However, if a genie wants to make me win the lottery so I can quit my job and just write that bestselling novel, I’m all for it.
Thanks for the Entertaining Conversation, Suzette. Now, let’s check out some of her novels !!
First, an Interview with the writer who turns her characters into Erotic Beasts – Bears, Panthers, and Lions, Oh My.
~~~~~~~~~ ❤  ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ❤   ~~~~~~~~~~ ❤

When did you know you wanted to write erotica?

Well, I never wanted to write Erotica per se. Not this girl, oh no, shock horror, sex scenes… *smirks* Trust me, if you’d read those first few scenes I ever wrote…. Can we say awkward?. However, I’m a pantser, and thus completely character driven and, wouldn’t you know it, my darn characters just cannot keep their hands off each other.

I write dirty talking, possessive, dominant Alpha heroes, and yeah, you just don’t argue with them. Trust me, I tried, and I just end up giving myself a headache!

So, I had to swallow my initial embarrassment and just get on with it, and just like in real life practice makes perfect, ya know…

Have you always been a sexual person, or grew that way later in life?

I’ve always had a healthy fascination with sex, but I’ve only truly embraced that side since I hit forty and hubby and I discovered kink. Let’s just say we have fun 😉

Who’s your Favorite character from your novels, why, and from what book?

I fall hopelessly in love with each and every one of my heroes when I write them, but if I had to pick just one, it would have to be Sven from The Housewife and the Film Star. Not only is Sven based on my all-time crush Alexander Skarsgard, he was also the first hero who truly took over my brain, and demanded that I write the story his way. That story contains the first anal sex I ever wrote, and let me tell you, that took me days.

I didn’t want to write it. He demanded I did. I refused. He kept pushing. (LOL) Naturally he won in the end. That story in its original form was my first erotic novel, and the version you can buy in the shops now is the third rewrite. I truly cut my teeth on that story, and as for anal…. It’s a rare book of mine that doesn’t have that in nowadays, and I don’t bat an eyelid at writing it anymore.

In fact, I LOVE writing sex scenes, period, nowadays. While my books are always love stories, scorching hot sex is guaranteed

Do you think writing erotica makes you a target on Facebook from unsavory people?

Oh, without doubt, it does. It comes with the territory. I’ve learned to trust in my instincts when I accept friend requests. The odd time I’ve ignored that niggle, is when some wack job sends me inappropriate stuff. The block button and I are firm friends on FB.

I have a thick skin and it doesn’t bother me. Hubby occasionally gets annoyed, and it’s just as well most of them live across the pond, or they might just find an irate Dom on their door step. 😉

You see, my hubby is also my Dom, and no one messes with what’s his. 😀

Do you have an OMG moment from one of your novels?

I have those all the time. Usually when I read back the sex scenes, blush, scratch my head and wonder what on earth I was on when I wrote them. The answer to that of course is that I was so in my characters’ head, that I didn’t even notice what I was writing, until I read it back and go…. Right then, lol.

Or as hubby, who reads all my stuff frequently says, “Damn girl, we’re so doing this.” *smirks*

Any erotic genres you don’t plan writing in and why?

I don’t like humiliation, and while I enjoy reading the odd dark erotic romance, I can’t see myself writing it, but I said that about lots of things, MM, for instance, and now love writing it, so who knows.

What’s your short term and long term goals as a writer?

Short term – to keep on writing. Long term – to make a proper living out of it. I’m at the stage where my royalties make a sizable contribution to the family income, but we certainly couldn’t live off it yet.

What’s Your Newest Release and do you have any WIP’s?

Her Panther Protector (M/F) releases August 4th.7617369_orig

The Alpha’s Assassin (M/M) (part of the Bad Alpha-Man Love Anthology) releases August 21st.

A Mutt in Disguise (M/F) (Free Read) is scheduled for release in August

Sunshine and Love (M/M) is scheduled for release in September

And my current WIP is Auctioned to the Daddy Dom (M/F) (Book 4 in my Club Spectrum series)

Did I mention I have an overactive muse? 😉

You open a book and a Genie appears. He offers to make one of your novels a National Bestseller but a Celebrity or Politician has to die. What would you do / say?

No thanks! I wouldn’t want someone’s death on my conscience, and I’ll get on that Bestseller list in my own time. I’ve been known to hit a few already

Thanks for an Entertaining Interview, Doris !!!

Now, Let’s Check Out My Interview With This Talented Man

~~~~~~~~~ ❤  ~~~~~~~~~~ ❤  ~~~~~~~~~~~ ❤
When did you know you wanted to write erotica?
About a year ago, I was graduating from college (I graduated on my birthday, March 28, 2014!) and being rejected from jobs regularly kind of made me see that it was maybe a sign that I wasn’t cut out for work like that, so I tried to look at the avenues of my life I could turn into a living. I’ve always wanted to write a novel and I absolutely love the romance genre, so I decided to write how I felt and what I know and what I’ve researched and the rest is history!
Have you always been a sexual person, or grew that way later in life?
I’ve always been a little sexual, yup. I was one of those precocious kids who got their hands on a computer way too early, and had older brothers who didn’t know how to hide their porn well. So I learned quite a bit from the internet. The internet has been a basic building block of my twisted personality for quite some time now! 😉
Who’s your Favorite character from your novels, why, and from what book?
My NEW favorite character from my novels would have to be Nicodemus, from the Lykaios series. Of all of the alpha men that I’ve written, he is the most steadfast.
He’s loyal and he’s sweet and he might not have a winning sense of humor or be as exciting as some of my more hotheaded heroes, but he exemplifies the perfect man for me. He’s never going to hurt you and he’s always going to be there, wrapping you in his arms, and cheering you on. 😀
Do you think writing erotica makes you a target on Facebook from unsavory people?
Surprisingly, no! I keep a rather low profile and I’m usually afraid of talking to people. Even my reviewers and fellow writers, I might be seen as a little quiet. But if you talk to me first, I’m always happy to get a conversation going. I haven’t had any problems with unsavory people because I’m not exactly the easiest person to approach, I believe. 😛
Are there any erotic genres you don’t plan writing in and why?
I’d like to establish myself as someone who writes gay erotic romance, so in spite of my audience being primarily women I don’t think I’ll travel into heterosexual or lesbian territory anytime soon. I might change my mind in the future – who knows what the future holds? – but as of the moment I don’t exactly see myself writing in those particular genres of erotica/erotic romance. Mostly out of a sense of respect for my audience: I don’t want to write something that might accidentally offend someone with the lack of knowledge on my part.
Besides, I kind of like writing about guys a little bit more, especially in contemporary settings, when men are learning to come to terms with their own emotions, aside from the sexuality thing. 😀
Have you learned anything about yourself since you’ve been writing?
I’ve learned that I’m lazier than I originally thought I was. I mean it: I’m pretty lazy and there are some days where I might be too lazy to actually get up and write. I try to make each day count by writing at least 100-300 words (a good page’s worth) but I fail from time to time. 😀
What’s your short term and long term goals as a writer?
Short term, I want to come up with books that are as diverse and different as they are compelling. Relationships are nuanced and different and I want to showcase many different ones. But in the long term, I also want to be known for my writing.
A fellow author from Siren actually said that many of her readers call her the wolf queen, for her many works featuring wolf shifters… I want to have a similar title to my readers, so that when someone thinks, “oh, Frey Ortega? He’s the master of ____.” As to what that blank is, who knows? LOL
Fifty Shades of Gray – Hate it / Love It – why?
Take note that I haven’t read 50SoG so you should take my opinion with a grain of salt, but what I love is that it brought erotic romance to the mainstream eye and brought more people reading the genre and finding something that they love.
What I don’t like is that, with this success and new found audience, people either hold my books (and my fellow authors’ books) to the same standard. This can be a good or bad thing, but ultimately, 50SoG? It’s totally a double-edged sword for me.
Have you ever considered making one of your male characters a short, chunky nerdy type guy?
Yes. One of the beta males. I’ve written a lot of nerds, I think I’ve got it down pretty well, seeing as though I am one… LOL!
What’s your WIP or Next Release?
Nicodemus, the third book of the Lykaios series, is coming out in the third or fourth week of August!
Marry / Fuck / Kill — Ryan Gosling – Ryan Seacrest – Ryan Reynolds.
Marry Ryan Reynolds, because he knows how to make people laugh and he’s really handsome and I’ve had the biggest crush on him for the longest time; fuck Ryan Gosling, he seems like he’d be hot in bed; and despite me having a little crush on Ryan Seacrest, I’d kill him because with these two other Ryan’s, in my honest opinion, he would pale in comparison.
Name something that gets you in the mood and elaborate – if possible.
I like off-beat, off the wall things. My favorite scene would have to be this one scene where one of the men was tied up and pleasured in a sauna. He couldn’t move, the only thing he could do was breathe harshly and keep panting as this other guy sucked him off, played with his chest, kissed him… Keeping in mind that this was a big, muscular, alpha male-looking man and his partner was a little more on the thinner side, it was just the whole idea of someone so large giving up control and allowing this other person free reign over their bodies that really made me interested in the video. I watched all, like, 45 minutes of it, without even skipping. It was SO GOOD. LOL!
Thanks for the Informative and oh so Naughty Interview, Frey.  Now, Lets take a Peek at a couple of his M/M Erotic Novels!
Elena Kincaid — Erotica Writer on the Rise
ek picElena Kincaid
Elena was born in the Ukraine and raised in New York where she currently lives with her daughter. She graduated college with a BFA in creative writing and started a graphic design business a few years later. She developed a passion for reading and writing at an early age and loves to write what she loves to read — that’s romance with a paranormal twist. Her desk is constantly cluttered with journals, sticky notes, and torn out pieces of paper full of ideas. When not working, Elena loves to spend time with her family, travel the globe, curl up with a good book, and catch up on her soaps.
Elena will also be a featured author at the Facebook Summer Erotica Event –the SINsational Sirens Showcase running from August 5th to the 9th. (2) - Copy
Now, Without Further Ado, Here’s MY Interview with Elena!
When did you know you wanted to write erotic romance?
I’ve always known that I wanted an element of romance in my books. Those are usually my favorite types to read, be it in classics, paranormals, ya, or adult, etc, but I decided to try my hand with the erotic a few years ago and got my first published book, Three Made in Heaven, out of it. One of the scenes in the book actually came from a dream I had and even though it wasn’t one of those dreams, I was aware that something hot had recently happened between my characters. I just had so much fun writing this book and was surprised how easily and naturally writing the love scenes came to me.
Have you always been a sexual person, or grew that way later in life?
I think I have always been. Sex is beautiful, wonderful, messy, sweet, dirty…throw in people who care about each other and it’s magical.
Who’s your Favorite character from your novels, why, and from what book?
This is a tough question to answer. I am not sure I could pick a favorite because I get so attached to all of them, but I will say that in UNSHATTERED, my hero’s dad became so endearing to me as the story progressed. I had no idea he would have such an impact on me or my heroine even as I was plotting this story. You don’t always spend a lot of time thinking about secondary characters when you first get an idea or during the initial plotting, so this was pleasantly surprising and added so much more to the story I think.
Have you learned anything about yourself since you’ve been writing?
Absolutely! For one, I’ve learned to have more confidence in myself and my ability as a writer. It’s not just a lifelong dream anymore, I am actually doing what I love and have always wanted to do.
What’s your short and long term goals as a writer?
My short term goals are to finish the plethora of projects I have plotted. 😉 There is so much in my head right now, it needs to come out.
Long term is more of the same, to keep coming up with and writing stories, hopefully ones people will want to read. And also to improve my craft as a writer. I think that’s so important.
What’s your WIP / next release?
My next release is called Pack Warriors, A Romance on the Go story from Evernight Publishing and is scheduled for release sometime this August. It’s an MFM Wolf-Shifter ménage. Lot’s of lovin’ and fighting and of course more lovin’. Super excited for its release.
My WIP is book two in the Made in Heaven series called Ocean’s Three, an MFM erotic paranormal ménage romance that takes place on a cruise ship. Ocean’s Three incorporates the same soul mate and psychic elements as the first book, but delves deeper into it. I am a little more than halfway done with this one. I have a few stories outlined and ready to go after, including three books so far in a brand new series about dragon shifters. It’s going to be super hot, in more ways than one, and yes, pun intended because I am just that cheesy.
Name something that gets you in the mood and elaborate – if possible.
You mean besides watching Sam Heughan in Outlander and a shirtless Ryan Paevey on General hospital? Chocolate. Bring me chocolate. Oh and coffee. Coffee and chocolate are the ways to my heart…and other parts of me.
Thanks for an Awesome Interview, Elena !  Now, let’s have a Peek at your Available Novels ~~~~~
~~~~~~~~ ❤  ~~~~~~~~~~ ❤  ~~~~~~~ ❤

When did you know you wanted to write erotica?

It was a gradual realization. Once I was an adult and started writing longer pieces, all of my work had a very distinct sexuality to it. I was mainly writing in the horror/thriller genre and while it definitely wasn’t erotic, there were strong sexual themes. I switched to romance about two years ago specifically to give myself a challenge: I wanted to write the romance novel that I wanted to read, exploring the emotions that are involved when love and lust are so tightly entangled. At that point, I gave myself permission to use all the dirty words that weren’t in my earlier works. Thus, an erotic romance writer was born.

Have you always been a sexual person, or grew that way later in life?

I have always been a sensual person. The senses and the way I respond to them emotionally have always been a central part of my experience. Even in my dreams, all of my senses are involved: smell, hearing, taste. I think that sensuality led me to be a very sexual person once I was old enough to want that.

Who’s your Favorite character from your novels, why, and from what book?

Oh, gosh, I love them all, even the ones that I should hate! I get ideas all the time to write spin-off books about secondary characters I’ve done, simply because I want to spend more time with them. I enjoyed writing the Meredith character from my Renegade books: smart, sassy, and ran off with the bad boy. But I really identify with Nicole in my Circles books, the woman exploring all facets of herself, hesitant and yet willing to take a risk.

Are there any erotic genres you don’t plan writing in and why?

At this stage, the romance is more important to me than just the erotica, so I’m sticking to pretty much M/F erotic romance, or at least the stories in my head waiting to be typed are all that. There might be a little M/F/F at some points, not sure yet. But my fascination lies with the romance and power play in D/s relationships.

Have you learned anything about yourself since you’ve been writing?

Definitely. As my characters explore, I’m exploring these same thoughts. As I’ve grown older, I’ve become more aware and comfortable with myself and my own sexual nature. Writing, whether you are blogging or writing fiction, is exploration of thought.

What’s your short term and long term goals as a writer?

Short term: survive the summer and start writing the next book (the third Renegades novella). Long term: keep writing until I die or lose my mind. The stories come to me faster than I can write them.

Fifty Shades of Gray – Hate it / Love It – Why?

I read all three. They weren’t my favorite books by any means and I didn’t identify with the female or have any attraction to the male. I read them for the phenomenon that they were, analyzing them as I went. What worked? What didn’t? Why are they so popular? How can I make that much money with my books?

What’s your WIP or Next Release?

My next book is coming out July 29 (yikes! so soon!) Broken Circles, the second book in the Circles trilogy.

Reveal something that gets you in the mood and elaborate – if possible.

A hotel room. I love staying in hotels, there is something so sexy about that. No neighbors you care about offending with your screams, no worries about marking up the furniture with the handcuffs, that desk, the ottoman, that straight back chair. A hotel room is like a stage set for sex.

Even though Ms Loveit is one of the Featured Authors of the Sirens Sinsational Summer Showcase (Aug 5th to the 9th) she still manages to devote time to her passion for writing, and of course, reading.

Ms Loveit’s current story came to her in a dream and it just grew from there. It is an erotic relationship theme with BDSM elements. She started writing it just to “get it out of her head.”

Lorraine has many more stories “in her head” just waiting for her to finish her current series. She also intends writing more short erotic stories.

She lives in the south west of Western Australia. When on holidays enjoys camping with her family and two dogs; always making sure she has plenty of reading material and, since she started writing, her laptop is the first thing packed.

Here’s My Interview With Lorraine ~~~~~~~~~

Hello and Thanks for joining me today!!! First Question — Who’s your Favorite character from your novels, why, and from what book?

Great to be here, John.  Its Suzie, the main character whose point of view my PLAYING THE GAME series is told from.

Why? Because she has evolved so much from the first page of book 1 to the current book 5. She is now resilient, brave and knows what she wants.

Do you have an OMG moment from one of your novels?

I have plenty but without giving too much away, it’s the ‘proposition’ that Brendon puts to Suzie towards the end of book 1. It’s so controversial and over-the-top that it has prompted a strong response from many readers. But I found it was necessary to show how Brendon and Suzie move on and grow from that moment.

Have you learned anything about yourself since you’ve been writing?

Yes – that I can actually write something that people not only pay for but enjoy. I’ve wanted to be published since I was quite young and I’m over the moon every time I receive a glowing review.

Fifty Shades of Gray – Hate it / Love It – Why?

Love it. Why? Because I carried the storyline for my current series around in my head for a year, thinking, “No one is going to want to read this!” But when I finally read the book everyone was talking about I realized there were lots of readers out there craving for my type of story.

What’s your WIP / Next Release?

I am on book 6, Grand Final, the final book in the Playing the Game series, which revolves around AFL (Australian Rules) football.

Name something that gets you in the mood and elaborate – if possible?

Believe it or not, it’s my own writing. Whenever I write a sex scene it makes me hot and rushing to ‘act out the scene’ with my partner.

Thanks for giving me a little of your time, Lorraine. I look forward to seeing you at the Biggest Erotica Event of the Summer!!

Now, let’s check out a few of her novels ~~~~~~
