Now, Take a Bite of My Interview With Elaine ~~~~
How long have you been a published author and what’s your main goal for the future?
I have been self-published since October 2013 when I published Master For Tonight, an erotic, vampire romance. Since then, I have published Master For Tonight II, Evangeline (a Master For Tonight Companion novel), and have started on my newest series, The Flames of Vampire Passion with Zane being the first in a planned trilogy. The next book will be published either in April or May.
My main goal for the future is not to lose my cool at my day job, and keep writing. I’ve been at my job for almost 20 years, and I’m just tired of it. I know everyone can commiserate with me, but seriously… I’m tired of all the Dallas traffic, and want to downsize, and move somewhere else so I can have my main focus be my husband first, and then my writing.
I have a lot of things on the burner, so to speak. I’ll be finishing up the Flames of Vampire Passion Series this year. Kinda sad… I’m seriously I love with my male character, but after the third book, it may be enough. I dunno. There may be more of Zane and London in the future, but I have a book that my fans keep requesting, so I’m going to go ahead and start on that, see where it goes…. Then, I have a book planned about the vampire woman that my husband had tattooed on his arm. Can’t wait for that one really. It’s going to be traditional vampires… Coffins, everything. Really going to back with that book.
What’s your pick for the most sensuous food combination?
I guess the classic, chocolate covered strawberries. My husband gets the Godiva chocolates and a couple of bottles of champagne for us to enjoy on our special days. I feed him… He feeds me…. Well, you know where that’s going.
Have you ever included a handicapped character in your writing? If so, what book, the character’s name, and were they sexually involved in the novel.
Actually, my Zane has a vampire handicap that could kill him, but I have never written someone non-PNR with a handicap. I do have it planned though.
If you were to get a tattoo that represented your work, what would it be and why?
I do have a tattoo that represents my work. It circles my ankle and says, “All I really want is something beautiful to say.” They’re the lyrics from Seether’s Words as Weapons, and I was nearly floored the first time I heard them. I have never had my emotions towards my work spoken as raw and honestly as those. I pondered the tattoo for a couple of years before I did it. I couldn’t be happier.
What professional ‘Mainstream’ author would you like to see go full Erotica in a novel and why?
Yes, I would love to see Karen Marie Moning go full erotica in a book. She is a talent that has no compare and based on what I have read from her in her Fever Series, I know she would bring an A game that I don’t know anyone could compare to. She’s seriously that good. I’ve never read another series as well written as Fever.
If you were to try BDSM for the first time, would you be a dom/domme or a submissive and why?
I would definitely be a submissive, but we’d have to lay some ground rules down first. One: I don’t want my ass beat. I do not like being spanked. So just leave my booty alone. Two: Nobody’s whipping me either. I’m not into pain. Those are the main two.
Anyways, so why a sub? I would just want someone else to be in control. I might envision BDSM differently than a lot of people. I’m sure I do. I’ve read a lot of BDSM, and know what the hard core is. I guess I want the softer version.
Which of your character’s names would be best suited for a porn star, and why?
Zane Thornton. It rolls off the tongue just like his would run over his co-stars pussy. Need I go on? Didn’t think so.
Which popular phrase best defines your writing and why —- “Do Unto Others as they do unto you”, “Kill ’em all and let God sort them out”, or “Why can’t we all just get along.” (If you have a better phrase, feel free to use it.)
I think it’s my tattoo: “All I really want is something beautiful to say.” I write erotic romance. Heavy on the erotic. Heavy on the romance. The words that I write when my characters are together are an expression of love, an emotional connection. Let me just say this: Anyone who thinks Zane and London in “Zane, Book One” are not in love will not be able to question it in the second book.
In your opinion, what would be the unsexiest animal for a ‘Shifter’ character to turn into, and why?
A snake. I freaking hate snakes!!!! They are supposed to be a symbol for regeneration, etc… whatever… I hate them! And, I have seen shifter books where the shifter goes into snake-mode. No thank you!!!!
Have you ever read a sex scene in an erotic novel and said to yourself – WTF? (Explain w/o divulging the book or writer.)
I read one where this couple were doing it on a motorcycle while they were on the road. The chick had replaced the original zippers on the jeans they wore with longer ones that, when unzipped, would go lower than their private parts. So, he gives her signal, and she lowers hers and his jeans zipper. She somehow climbs over to be in front facing him, and then she’s riding the guy while he’s driving the motorcycle. They’re going past cars, people are pointing… As someone married to an avid motorcyclist… this was just ridiculous. Sorry.
What’s the oddest physical/mental attribute you’ve given to one of your characters, and why?
Zane can send visions to someone if he’s close enough. The things he sends to London are enough to make her climax. I gave that attribute to him because he told me he could do it. He also sends music to London. He has no idea he does it, but he does. His love for her thrums inside her in a melody that will last forever. It isn’t the same song all the time. He would never be that boring. But it’s always there…. Expressing his love for her in tones and chimes in a way he cannot verbally.

ZANE (FLAMES OF VAMPIRE PASSION SERIES 1)
SYNOPSIS — SET YOUR NIGHTS ABLAZE WITH THE FIRST BOOK IN THE FLAMES OF VAMPIRE PASSION SERIES
London Beckley (aka Lindy Beck):
“Human life is short. A flicker of time, and then it’s over. Live it while you can… With me.”
Those were the outrageous words Zane said to me the night I attended the adult convention to try to network and sell some books.
I had left my husband to pursue my life on my own terms rather than put up with one more word of insult. Once I arrived at the event, I was startled to find someone already at my table, Zane, claiming to be my assistant for the night. As the event progressed, amidst his antics of reading excerpts to chittering ladies, and flashing what I thought were fake fangs, he made his intentions towards me crystal clear.
Little did I know how drastically my life was about to change with Zane’s entrance into it.
Zane took me from my colorless world, and immersed me into his vibrancy.
Soon, he was inside me in almost every way possible.
My conflicted mind.
My hidden walls protecting me.
My damaged heart.
The immediate and undying intensity between us was both an awakening of my true self and an overwhelming rush ripping me apart. I wasn’t sure if I would survive the ways he made me feel in my body, heart and soul, much less the salacious, climax-inducing visions he could send directly into my psyche.
After a night of interrupted intimacy, and another of heated exchanges between Zane and my mother, I threw away my inclination for sanity, and accepted his invitation to take a walk on the wild side with him for the next few weeks.
Life had served me enough bitterness in the day. For some reason, it had decided to reflect its loving moonlight, and I wasn’t asking any questions.
Still, I wondered if he would survive my mother.
Forever is a long time.
When you’re as old as I am and you find the person you want to be with, you go for it, and don’t look back.
I discovered London through reading her books, recognized my heart’s counterpart, and looked her up to interact with her on social media. Once she announced the convention she planned to attend, I decided that was the time to go get her, and forbade my friend Jen as well as London’s other vampire fans from going. I needed London’s full attention on me, and knew how to get it.
London is sex all bottled up and I’ve got the corkscrew to pop her open. But more than that, she’s funny, kind, tenderhearted yet damaged in ways I long to fix. The woman sets my dead blood on fire. To Hell with anyone or anything that gets in my way, whether it be a former love interest who dares to threaten her, or anyone else who tries to separate us.
Our passion is a flame that will not be extinguished.
Zane, Flames of Vampire Passion Series, Book One, contains steaming, wickedly hot scenes of vivid intimacy, laugh out loud humor and depth of heartfelt connection between Zane and London of real emotion.
Can their passion for each other survive a jilted lover, and heart-stopping intimacy? Even more worrisome, can it survive London’s domineering mother?
This work is fiction and meant for an adult audience.
M/F, language, violence, stand alone, first in the series, HEA, paranormal, vampires
EVANGELINE (MASTER FOR TONIGHT COMPANION)
SYNOPSIS — “I know what you think of me. I know the names you’ve called me. Psycho. Insane. Demented. And worse… so much worse. But you don’t know me. You don’t know anything about me. All you know is what Julian told you. You don’t know the extent of my tragedies.” – Evangeline
After being left to die in the rays of the morning light, Evangeline is rescued by her Maker. Troubled, and facing demons of his own, he demands that she reconcile her torrid history and justify his saving her.
Angry and terrified, but not alone, she unfurls her secrets for the ultimate judgement.
After centuries of anguish, what would you become? Would you be an angel? Does Evangeline deserve to burn?
Evangeline is a companion to the Master For Tonight duet. It can be read as a standalone, but it is not recommended, because throughout the book, references are made to scenes and characters from the Master For Tonight novels
MASTER FOR TONIGHT
SYNOPSIS — While feeding in the slums of the city, he is interrupted by a woman. Mesmerized, he extracts his fangs from his meal and follows her home. Instantly obsessed, he watches her nightly. Nights turn to months. His desire for her becomes overwhelming. Though fearing the wrath of a vicious Maker who turned him against his will, Julian decides to give Kate the most sensual night of her life, and then walk away.
Kate Collins is an average woman in her late-30’s, plagued by panic attacks. Sent home by her boss at the shelter, she prepares to have a night of relaxation…until her doorbell rings.
Julian Montfort is the most beautiful and masculine man she has ever seen. He exudes ‘maleness’ from his entire body—that certain quality some men have in their DNA that makes a woman recognize her femininity…her ‘womanness.’ That part of her that is soft, malleable, and made to accept him. Drawn to him despite his unconventional arrival, Kate must answer his question: “Can you allow yourself this indulgence? It’s just one night.”
