Now, Time For My Interview With JF ~~~~
How long have you been a published author and what’s your main goal for the future?
I’ve been published since February of 2014. I’d written for years but really just as a hobby. My main goal is to begin writing something a little different, probably a sci-fi story. First, I have to bring the Mr. and Mrs. Average Joe series to a satisfying conclusion. They’re not finished quite yet.
What’s your pick for the most sensuous food combination?
Strawberries with whipped cream or better yet, a dark chocolate fondue. Those always work for us.
Have you ever included a handicapped character in your writing? If so, what book, the character’s name, and were they sexually involved in the novel.
I have not to date but am seriously considering it. My characters are middle aged and things like that are very real. I have several friends and loved ones going through painful surgeries and rehabs as I write this so it hits close to home. I definitely see this becoming part of our stories and yes, they will find a way to be sexually active.
If you were to get a tattoo that represented your work, what would it be and why?
I’ve given this a lot of thought and actual research. My books are about trying new things and enjoying life. In the next one, events lead the two couples to get matching tattoos. This is a spoiler but I found the perfect tattoo. It’s a Japanese phrase that means, “Life is short – live each moment to the fullest and treasure the time we have.” Made up of five beautiful symbols, it’s stunning.
If you were to see a couple arguing to the point of violence, what would you do, and why?
I’m a peaceful, non-violent person by nature but I’d have to do something. Domestic violence is never cool. If it was a public situation, I’d try to call 911 before personally getting involved.
If you were to try BDSM for the first time, would you be a dom/domme or a submissive and why?
Having tried it more than a few times, it’s hard to picture my “first” but I still enjoy being the sub and dominated by a woman. Of course, it helps to have the right woman!
We’ve all heard the stories about celebrities being stalked, or worse. What’s your biggest fear about being in the public eye (now or in the future) and why?
I always hope for the best but face it, there are crazy people out there. My biggest fear is from someone who believes the stories are real and wants to join in. We all have troll stories on FB but how far will someone take it? Someone IM’ed me one who seemed to believe I was the sexy woman used in one of our teasers. Briefly cute then seriously creepy. It’s erotic fiction, people. Fiction.
Which 60’s to 80’s cultural craze would you be more inclined to re-visit today —- Experimenting with LSD, Disco, or the Urban Cowboy phase — and why?
Of the three, I’d go back to the psychedelic 60’s, really one of the most artistically creative periods of my lifetime. The music from that era is especially timeless. I’m also a musician and had plenty of my own mind bending experiences with LSD though later in the 70’s. It was a fun time. Country and disco never really did it for me.
Which of your character’s names would be best suited for a porn star, and why?
My little Asian temptress, Mika would be the choice and here’s why: I got the name from an actual porn star. When creating her, I knew she would be Japanese so I did a search of Asian porn stars and found Mika Tan. It sounded good and I learned Mika is a fairly common girl’s name in Japan.
Which popular phrase best defines your writing and why —- “Do Unto Others as they do unto you”, “Kill ’em all and let God sort them out”, or “Why can’t we all just get along.” (If you have a better phrase, feel free to use it.)
“Do Unto Others as They Do Unto You.” My stories involving sharing – anything and everything. The characters also respect and help each other through life’s various challenges. I couldn’t imagine it any other way.
Have you ever read a sex scene in an erotic novel and said to yourself – WTF? (Explain w/o divulging the book or writer.)
My biggest issue is with poorly edited scenes that repeat the same things over and over. Other times, I have to wonder. Has the writer ever had sex? It doesn’t sound like it. On the flip side, there can be too much. Six orgasms only two paragraphs in? Really? It does tell me there’s something for everyone out there.
Office Sex, Rooftop Sex, or Haunted House Sex — which one would you rather do, and why?
Rooftop sex would be the most exciting just for the sheer chance of being seen or caught. Imagine someone doing do a Google Earth search and just making their day.
