Today’s Featured Author — J F Silver !!!
We never know which road life will take us down. J.F. always wanted to write but a lifetime of work and family happened, passing all too quickly while his dream got pushed aside. Who knew, all these years later, that his passion would return in the form of hot group-sex stories? He’s so grateful to be able to share them and loves dreaming up new fantasies for his characters to experience.
Today, he lives in Wisconsin with the love of his life, his soul mate, and the inspiration for all his work. Besides sex and writing about it, his passions include baseball, music, playing the drums, his two daughters, and especially, spoiling his grandchildren. He never gave up on his dream of being a writer. He just took the scenic route.
He also loves hearing from readers. Find out more about “Mr. and Mrs. Average Joe” and J. F. Silver at: mrandmrsaveragejoe.blogspot.com or on Facebook at http://www.facebook/jfsilver.98
THE Q & A
Which one of your fictional characters would you like to do the nasty with?
JF — Well, let’s start with an easy one. Early on and through sheer chance, a sexy Asian woman named Mika was created to share the pleasures of both Mr. and especially, Mrs. Average Joe. She’s fueled many fantasies, both real and fictional and remains a major source of combustion in my series. The possibilities are endless with this character.
What was your first Erotica book and what was the Toughest thing about writing it?
JF — My first book was Mr. and Mrs. Average Joe, which also became the name of the series. The toughest thing was piecing together a narrative from several little stories I’d written over the years. I had enough for a full novel but after doing extensive research on what was out there, decided to start with a novella. That meant it had to have a lot of heat and a tease at the end to keep readers wanting more. It’s gotten easier but I labored over those first 22,000 words.
Who’s your most exciting character and who would play them in the movie?
JF — I believe my most exciting character is Elaine, aka Mrs. Average Joe. She’s always curious and initiates many of the hottest fantasies. I can’t imagine our story as a movie with anything less than a XXX rating but I’ll go with a couples options. Sharon Stone has the looks and maturity Elaine would require if we’re talking mainstream. In reality though, a sexy, mature adult film star Jessica Drake or Julia Ann would probably get the nod.
Fill in the blank — Leather _jacket : Gold ____finger: Silver ___Bells (JF — (it’s Christmas time as I write this)
In 20 Years You’ll Be ______?
JF — I’ll be _holy shit, really old! If I still have all my faculties, I’ll continue writing. A late bloomer, there’s a lot of story left in these old bones. As for the rest, who really knows? We’ll take that a day at a time and be grateful for each new one we wake up to enjoy. I have a long bucket list which I’d like to experience instead of just writing about it.
Give a shout-out to your most valued Fan, Helper, or Mentor and why?
JF — I have to give a very special shout out to an angel by the name of Teresa Adams. This past summer, my books went through a change of publishers and were temporarily off the market. Re-launching was like starting from scratch and I did most of my own promo. One day, a friend request from Teresa was followed by PM and we started chatting. She liked the books, began making teasers and just like that, I had an awesome PA whose help has been invaluable. She even started and runs Silver’s Sirens, a street team comprised of more wonderful angels.
Who’s Your Favorite Porn Star and Why?
JF — We’ve been watching porn since VCR’s first appeared and many stars have offered inspiration through the years. My favorite though, is Asia Carrera, who was popular in the 90’s. She always gave a good performance whether with men or women. Imagine me having a thing for an exotic Asian woman! As far as men go, I can’t think of anyone more entertaining than Evan Stone. He’s got the goods in the physical department but the guy can actually act and is hilarious. We highly recommend Hercules from Wicked Pictures or Pirates from Digital Playground. Classic Evan Stone. (ED. Note — J.F. — Take a look at Asa Akira.)
What Genre of Erotica are you most hesitant to write about and why?
JF — I’ve yet to write an M/M scene for either of the two main male characters in the series though it seems inevitable. There have been several in the story but they’ve just been observers. I don’t really know why it hasn’t happened yet but I will say that an M/M encounter is planned for Joe in my current WIP.
What is your favorite ‘Banned’ book and why?
JF — Slaughterhouse Five by Kurt Vonnegut, Jr. This isn’t usually considered a “banned” book but at one time for me, it was. Hard to imagine this classic as such but it’s true. In high school back in the early 70’s, I had two English teachers who had a huge impact on me. One encouraged me to write, the other to read. I took as many literature classes as they’d let me and read as much as I could. But, Slaughterhouse Five contained the f-word, a definite no-no at the time for my school district. One of these teachers encouraged me to seek it at the public library and it was a game changer. Vonnegut has been a favorite of mine for decades.
What is the least favorite word you’ve seen in Erotica and why?
JF — The winner is using “sex” or “my sex” to describe the pussy. Before I decided to publish my stories, my wife and I read “Fifty Shades” and nearly gagged each time that was used. Of course, this list is all subjective and could easily include, “member,” (is it a club?) or that all-time favorite, “moist.” One we also have a hard time with is, “ooze” or “oozing.” (Festering wound? Not sexy)
Have you ever incorporated humor into a sex scene and, if not, would you be willing to try it?
JF — Yes! I have a few scenes that turn humorous, especially in my latest, Life’s Too Short. Without giving away too much, we have characters with an outdoor sex fetish and this one gets fun, in a very sloppy kind of way. The second book, Nothing Gray About Fifty, also features some shenanigans involving a pole dance, among other things.
What Tame Literary Classic would you love to turn into a Hot Piece of Erotica?
JF — Alice in Wonderland could certainly be made into a hot piece of something. You have the hot heroine at the center and with all the oddball characters the fetish possibilities are endless. I’m sure someone’s already done the erotic version.
MR AND MRS AVERAGE JOE
Can sex really get better with age? For Joe and Elaine, an average couple married a long time, the answer is definitely yes! After thirty years together they begin experimenting with others and discover a whole new world of pleasure. An unexpected three-way leaves them curious and wanting more. When Elaine suggests a search for playmates, they meet John and his sexy Asian wife, Mika. Sparks ignite from the start for the women and two lucky husbands get to come along for the ride. Things get hotter with each visit and as fantasies are fulfilled, the couples become much more than just friends, proving that age is just a number.
NOTHING GRAY ABOUT FIFTY (AVERAGE JOE 2)
Just how close can two happily married couples become?
Joe and Elaine, along with their “friends with benefits,” Mika and John, return for the second helping of “Mr. and Mrs. Average Joe.” Away from the bedroom, the four souls share mutual pleasures while discovering new and exciting passions. Another fantasy is fulfilled when a night out results in a sexy surprise reunion with a very special friend. But things really heat up as the couples begin celebrating birthdays together. Age is just a number but hitting the half century mark has never been hotter than this.
* These characters appear in Mr. and Mrs. Average Joe. This is book 2 in the series and the stories should be read in order.
ALONG FOR THE RIDE (AVERAGE JOE 3)
While celebrating a year of incredible fun together, Elaine proposes a new challenge for Joe and their friends, Mika and John. Each gets to choose an activity they’re passionate about and the other three must come along for the ride. How far out of your comfort zone would you go for your friends? Later, when a financial crisis threatens to postpone a much anticipated birthday party, the four lovers face a tough decision. Will their string of celebrating special milestones be broken? And what happens when Joe and Elaine are tempted by masked strangers at a sizzling Halloween Ball? Find out in Mr. and Mrs. Average Joe’s sexiest adventure yet!
LIFE’S TOO SHORT (AVERAGE JOE 4)
Grab a bucket of ice; you’ll need it! These couples are scorching.
Inspired by gratitude, best friends Elaine and Mika decide to share their positive ideas in a book. Both realize, however, that much of their own happiness is derived from the active, fantasy filled sex lives they enjoyed. When the project begins to reflect this, husbands Joe and John eagerly offer assistance with research. Who knew orgasms had so many health benefits? Christmas delivers an exciting new development for the book but, could change everything for the two couples. Deciding that, life’s too short, these friends and lovers throw caution to the wind, taking things further than ever before. Finally, a getaway to a secluded, lakeside cabin turns into a life-changing, dream vacation where fantasies really do come true. Enjoy every moment. Life’s too short.
