I’ve loved reading since I was a little girl although just about every book I ever read I rewrote in my head. After a while I decided to just start writing them down. My best friend dared me to send one in, so I did, and to my surprise it was accepted.
I love books that make you laugh, cry, sit on the edge of your seat in fear that the couple won’t work it out, and then finally cheer for them when they do. I’m a true believer in a happy ending and won’t read a book or watch a movie that ends any other way.
I write every day but I always find time to spend with my family and friends as well as my hobbies (cooking, gardening, traveling, ceramics, and anything else that catches my attention).
My personal motto is “Regret is a wasted emotion.” Live well and happy reading.

What’s Your Age?
I just turned 110 as I’ve always lied and said I was older so now people think I look really, really good for my age.
Where are you from?
Earth, the North American Continent, the U.S.A., The South.
Tell Me A little about yourself; ie your education Family life etc . . .?
Hmmm, I have a bachelor’s degree in Liberal Arts. I come from a large family and I’m the youngest so I’ve been told I’m spoiled although my mother swears I’m not! I have a son, DIL and three grandsons I adore. I retired early from a career as a social worker. I’ve been a widow since I was very young and I’ve never had the time to remarry although I might someday if the right man comes along – meaning he’d have to be very interesting and adventurous. I love to travel, try out new recipes, go to the drive-in movie with a bucket of homemade popcorn and iced tea, read (mostly zombie and EMP novels and survival books), write, listen to music, watch movies, and spend time with my family and friends. I like doing ceramics and trying new hobbies but I have a very low boredom threshold and I tend to wander off after a while. I don’t sleep because I’m afraid I’ll miss something interesting and I love margaritas, whiskey sours, Amaretto sours, and popsicles especially the banana ones.
What’s Your latest news?
Right now I’m working on the third book in the Zarronian Warriors series, Soren’s Bondmate. It’s summer so I’m dividing my time between writing and lots of family activities like swimming and taking short hikes with my oldest grandson.
When and why did you begin writing?
I’ve always loved to read and that just translated into writing. I wrote in school because I was given writing assignments but fiction I only wrote in my head. Just about anything will trigger my imagination so I really have to force myself to stay focused in the real world.
When did you first consider yourself a writer?
Just recently actually. After my fifth book, Nate’s Naughty Nymph, was published with Siren.
What inspired you to write your first book?
I always rewrote the books I read if I didn’t like the way they ended or something that happened to one of the characters. I had a parochial school education which means I was exposed to the classics from an early age. Reading was a big deal in my family.
How do you come up with a title?
Usually my books name themselves although I have to admit some titles sell batter than others. I think there’s a formula to that but if there is I probably don’t follow it.
What books have most influenced your life most? a mentor?
My all-time favorite book is Swiss Family Robinson. The idea of a family or group of people being stranded and surviving really caught my imagination as a child. That’s carried over into adulthood. I love survival shows and books. I like seeing how people handle adversity and I love the cleverness of some of the designs of survival equipment especially the multi-function items. And, yes, Bear Grylls is my hero. Lol As far as mentors go I’d say romance writers Kathleen Woodiwiss, Janet Daily, Jude Deveraux, Julie Garwood, Amanda Quick and Catherine Coulter.
Do you see writing as a career?
Yes. It’s the hardest but most rewarding job I’ve ever had.
Can you share a little of your current work with us?
I don’t do that until I have to as that’s my superstition. It’s like I feel once someone has read the book its done and time to move on to the next one. NOT a good thing as there are always rewrites and edits to do.
Who designed the covers?
Harris Channing does all of my covers. I love her work and she’s so great to work with and even manages to understand and make sense of my visions.
Do you remember the first book you read?
My grandmother was a teacher and she had a huge room in her home full of school books and supplies so I think it was a “Dick and Jane”book. I do remember my oldest brother reading us The Wizard of Oz, one chapter a night at bedtime for what felt like an eternity. I was four. He was the only one of us who could read well enough to do the job. lol
What do you want written on your head stone and why?
“Today really is the first day of the rest of your life. Don’t waste it!”
